Andert Family Scholarship

Description
The late Norman J. Andert, a music educator, and Irene E. Andert, a retired healthcare professional, inspired subsequent generations of the Andert family to pursue careers in music, education, healthcare and public service. In their memory and honor, the Andert Family Scholarship provides assistance to students pursuing careers in the fine and healing arts for the betterment of human kind. Applicants must be graduating seniors at Lakeview High School and accepted by a four-year college or university of his/her choice to study the fine arts (e.g., music, performing arts, arts education, theater, visual arts, film, etc.) or a healthcare field (e.g., medicine, nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, medical technology, etc.). Students must demonstrate good character, citizenship and leadership.

Scholarship Eligibility & Criteria
The applicant must be a graduating senior at Lakeview High School and accepted by a four-year college or university of his/her choice to study the fine arts (e.g., music, performing arts, arts education, theater, visual arts, film) or a healthcare field (e.g., medicine, nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, medical technology). Applicant should demonstrate good character, citizenship, and leadership. Submit three copies of a performance (video or sound), creative work (e.g., photos of art), or essay describing experiences which demonstrate the applicant’s potential in the major of his/her choice.

Award
Earnings from the scholarship fund shall be awarded and determined on an annual basis. Generally, the amount will be at least $500.
