James and Jeane Mahoney Sports Camp Scholarship (grades 7-11)

To honor everybody’s “Gramps,” family and friends established the James H. Mahoney Memorial Sports Fund in 2007.

James (Jim) Mahoney was a graduate of Lakeview High School, a standout four-sport athlete, a loyal fan of Lakeview Spartan athletic teams, and most of all “Coach” on and off the field to many Lakeview athletes. He loved helping young athletes improve their talents in sports and in life — learn the fundamentals of the game, win with grace, lose with dignity, always respect your opponent, and be a gentleman on and off the field, to name a few.

Because of his love for sports, coaching, and helping kids, this scholarship is awarded annually to Lakeview High School and/or Lakeview Middle School students to attend sports camp not only to improve their athletic talents but also to develop valuable life skills.
