The scholarship will be awarded annually to underprivileged students who are academically eligible to attend college but do not have the financial resources.
The applicant must be a graduate of Lakeview High School who has completed the equivalent of at least 24 credit hours of college classes. Preference may be given to the non-traditional student who has taken time away from college and is now seeking to continue his/her studies. Applicant may be a full-time or part-time undergraduate student or technical school student.
Scholarship Applications and Deadlines
Scholarship applications may be obtained from the Lakeview Schools Superintendent’s Office, 15 Arbor Street, Battle Creek, MI 49015. The completed packet should be returned there by April 30.

Number, Amount and Stipulations of Awards
Initially, up to $2,000 in scholarships will be awarded to qualified candidates. The number and amount will be determined by the LSEF on an annual basis.
The Heselschwerdt Scholarship is potentially renewable; the applicant must reapply and follow the instructions on the “Non-Traditional Renewal Request Information” document at the bottom of this webpage.
The scholarship recipients will be notified by letter informing them of the scholarship, the amount, and the conditions. The monetary award will be sent to the designated college or university as outlined below.
