Dr. Margaret \u201cGigi\u201d Lincoln was proud to serve as District Librarian and National Honor Society Advisor with Lakeview Schools over a successful 50-year career from 1973-2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lifelong learner, Gigi earned a PhD in Library and Information Sciences from the University of North Texas in 2006. She has contributed articles to professional journals and has presented at conferences of the American Library Association (ALA), the American Association of School Librarians, the International Association of School Librarianship and the International Conference on Holocaust Education. At ALA 2023, Gigi gave a presentation on \u201cReflections on a Successful Semicentennial of Collaborative Transformational Learning in the Library.\u201d Gigi is a co-author of Designing Online Learning: A Primer for Librarians<\/em>. Together with Miriam Brysk, she wrote The Stones Weep: Teaching the Holocaust Through A Survivor\u2019s Art<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gigi is an American Memory Fellow with the Library of Congress and a Teacher Fellow with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Under her leadership, Lakeview High School Library received the Michigan Department of Education\u2019s 2018-2019 Model 21st Century School Library Award for its outstanding dedication to collaborative instruction among school library staffers, educators, and community groups. Gigi was named 2018-2019 Rynearson National Honor Society Adviser of the Year by the National Association of Secondary School Principals. She was honored to serve a four-year term through 2023 on the Governor\u2019s Educator Advisory Council.  Gigi is one of 16 educators nationwide chosen to be a Mentor for the Library of Congress Teaching With Primary Sources (TPS) Teachers Network where she manages the American Jewish Experience Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In retirement, Gigi continues to be involved in the educational field, drawing upon her experience as a school librarian and Holocaust educator. She is grateful for the opportunity to support organizations and projects to which she has been committed throughout her professional career. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
