
Charles (Chuck) Crider has lived in Lakeview for almost forty years. His three children graduated from Lakeview High School (Stephanie, Sara and Mark). He retired after working almost 25 years for the State of Michigan, the last 17 as the Supervisor of the felony Probation office in Battle Creek.
During that time, he was actively involved in various Lakeview committees and activities, culminating with three years on the Lakeview School Board. He was also a member of the citizen’s group that successfully passed a bond issue to build the new Lakeview High School. He resigned from the Lakeview School Board when he became the Director of Calhoun Community High School, an alternative high school chartered by Kellogg Community College and managed by Lakeview Schools serving students from all the Battle Creek area school districts. As such he served as a Lakeview administrator for 10 years prior to retiring again. He served for nine years on the Lakeview Educational Foundation Board. After a break, he again re-joined the LSEF Board, serving as the Chair for the past three years.
