Sergio Campos, Trustee

Hello everyone, my name is Sergio Campos. I have taken the position as a district and community liaison with Lakeview District Schools as of spring of 2024. My heritage is very blended. My mom is from Puerto Rico and my dad is from El Salvador. I take much pride in my Latino and indigenous heritage. I’ve had the pleasure and opportunity to work with youth in a variety of ways since 2016. More recently, I worked as a Spanish community liaison at the Calhoun Area Career Center through the Voces organization and as a program and behavior specialist at the Boys and Girls Club of Grand Rapids. As a Latino, and firm believer in the importance of mentorship, education, and diversity, I could not be more excited to help bring opportunities for continued education to the students of our community. I look forward to expanding the relationship with the Hispanic community here at Lakeview, as well as fostering stronger connections across all groups to ensure everyone has access to the resources and support they need to succeed.

Besides my passion for people, I’m also particularly passionate about outdoor activities, with some of my favorite pastimes being hiking, camping, and stargazing. I also enjoy learning about physics and indigenous history in my free time.
