Minges Family Scholarship

Description
Frances Minges Delmerico Issac implemented this scholarship in recognition of the 150+ years the family has resided and was active in the Lakeview area. Applicants must be current residents of Lakeview School District graduating from Lakeview High School and who will be attending an accredited four-year college or university or a two-year community college. Considerations are: Demonstrate a potential for success; financial need. Preference may be given to students intending to study music, art, or agriculture.

Purpose of the Fund The Minges Family Scholarship Fund (the “Fund”) was established for the purpose of providing scholarships to Lakeview High School students who seek educational opportunities beyond high school at a four-year university or a two-year community college to pursue an undergraduate degree.

Scholarship Eligibility & Criteria
Applicants will be graduating seniors at Lakeview High School, A current resident of Lakeview School District and accepted by an accredited college or university. Preference may be given to students intending to study music, art or agriculture. Special consideration will be given to candidates with dyslexia and autism, despite their GPA. Past applicants may reapply.

Award
Only earnings from the scholarship fund shall be awarded. The number of scholarships and amounts are to be determined by the Scholarship Committee on an annual basis.

Renewable
The Minges Family Scholarship may be renewable in the pursuit of completing an undergraduate degree, but is not automatic. The recipient should submit the transcript to show satisfactory progress as well as a letter of request, which details the student’s progress throughout the year and where to send the funds. Neither a new application nor an additional essay is necessary but the student must re-verify financial need and maintain Lakeview School District residency.
