Lakeview Schools Centennial Scholarship Fund (A Scholarship Fund) within the Lakeview Schools Educational Foundation

Fund Purpose

This Lakeview Schools Centennial Scholarship fund was established in honor of 100 Years of Educational Excellence at Lakeview Schools.

  • The Fund was established for the purpose of providing scholarships for graduating seniors and graduates of Lakeview High School seeking post-secondary education opportunities, with a preference for those in their Junior or Senior year of higher education.
  • Funds may be used for expenses incidental to attain educational objectives, including, but not limited to tuition, fees, books, and campus-based room and board. 

Eligibility Requirements

  • Graduating seniors and graduates of Lakeview High School. 
  • Students that have been accepted to or are enrolled at a 4-year college or university. 
  • Criteria Selection includes:
    • Preference will be given to college level students with Junior or Senior Status. 
    • Demonstration of good character and outstanding potential as evidenced by leadership, community involvement, work history, and goals, as indicated on the application or general essay response. 
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0 (this criterion is applicable only to graduating high school seniors and adults currently enrolled at a 4-year college or university)
    • Procedure for Selection Scholarship candidates must complete a scholarship application. All finalists may be required to complete an interview process

Scholarship Applications and Deadlines

  • Scholarship applications will be available through the Battle Creek Community Foundation’s website and/or other college access/scholarship related websites or similar interactive multimedia. Scholarship application assistance is provided by the Battle Creek Community Foundation, high schools, select community locations and college access/scholarship related organizations.

Number, Amount and Stipulations of Awards

The amount and the number of awards will be determined annually by the foundation, based on its Spending Policy.

Renewability

Prior recipients may reapply annually.

Notification

The scholarship recipients will be notified by letter informing them of the scholarship, the amount, and the conditions. The monetary award will be sent to the designated college, university, or technical school recipients will be notified by letter informing them of the scholarship, the amount, and the conditions.
