OCCUPATION:  Retired Attorney and Business Consultant, and avid Community Volunteer

ELECTED EXPERIENCE: Susan Baldwin was first elected to Battle Creek City Commission in November 2003; re-elected through November 2017 (eight terms); retired from Commission in November 2020; elected to the Lakeview Schools Educational Foundation January 2021.

Battle Creek City Commission: While serving on Commission, she was appointed to a number of boards and committees including:

    • Calhoun County Consolidated Dispatch Authority
    • City Manager Evaluation Committee
    • City Attorney Evaluation Committee
    • Human Relations Board

While on the City Commission, Susan also served on the Board of the Michigan Municipal League, Michigan Women in Municipal Government and the MML Foundation.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:  

  • Executive Director, Economic Development Forum of Calhoun County 
  • Private legal practice in Birmingham and Farmington Hills, Michigan
  • In-house corporate counsel for Blue Cross of Ohio
