Dan graduated from Central Michigan University in 1981. He worked at Price Waterhouse though 1990 and is now a partner at Fisher Spiegel Kunkle & Gerber, PLLC with experience in auditing, accounting, and consulting for multinational to small businesses including governmental and non profits. He serves on numerous nonprofit boards and has been treasurer of LSEF since October 2006, replacing the former treasurer who was serving since inception of LSEF. Both his daughters graduated from Lakeview High School and as a result Dan volunteered for band boosters, soccer, track, and cross country events along with other elementary committees.
